True Joinery Ltd was founded in 1947 by Bernard True, a skilled cabinet maker and joiner who began his apprenticeship in Gravesend, Kent, during the 1930s. After serving in the Royal Navy during World War II, he moved to St Agnes, Cornwall, where he established our business. Over the next two decades, we expanded into general building work across the region. Committed to precision and craftsmanship, we built a reputation for delivering quality bespoke joinery solutions.

I had an idea of exactly what I wanted as our new front door. Martin and Joe were brilliant, they took onboard my ideas and made a beautiful bespoke front door for us. They kept us fully up to date with how they were getting on with the making of the door and when they would be coming to fit it. Growth And Industry Expertise
By the 1970s and 1980s, we had become specialists in bank fitting and joinery, proudly serving as the main contractor for Lloyds Bank across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Our expertise in bespoke joinery and attention to detail made us a trusted name in the industry. After the economic downturn of the 1980s, we scaled down, but Bernard's son, Martin, continued the business, ensuring our legacy of exceptional craftsmanship continued.
A Family Legacy Continues
Today, we are a family-run business led by Martin and his son Joe, supported by a team of highly skilled joiners. Joe learned his craft from master joiner Nigel Trevena before gaining experience running his own business. In 2018, we moved into larger premises in Camborne, where we continue to create bespoke joinery with precision and care. Beyond our work, we are passionate about giving back, including a 600-mile steam engine challenge in 2019 to raise awareness for mental health charities.
